A Very Late Post

Hello!!! It has been quite awhile since I have made a post and even though making posts isn’t something I’m required to do, I am a little disappointed with myself because I miss posting! 🙂

Anyway, this is a very late post but a couple months ago I finally finished one of the DIY CarSeat Ponchos I was making for my kids!

My older two kids picked out their own fabric and I used a mixture of two tutorials that I found in a DIY group I’m in on Facebook.

After weeks of delaying and saying I was going to do it and hauling the fabric with me to and from my mom’s house, in the hopes I would get motivated to do it, I finally did it one night Hubby had off work. I made the hoods first.

Then Hubby helped me lay out the two layers of yards of fabric and cut them evenly. Followed closely by pinning them 🙂 First our middle child’s, our son William….

Then our oldest child’s, our daughter Isabelle…..

I will admit, it is well after midnight by this time and this was one of the most extensive projects I had done in YEARS!! So while we were doing the hood on William, my machine started goofing up and missed a few small spots. Pretty good given the fact that it was going through six layers of fleece fabric lol!! At the end, my bobbin thread got hugely tangled (at almost 4am) and I broke down and started crying because I thought I ruined it 😦 Put everything away and went to bed…..

Took it out a couple days later and it was perfect (except two tiny spots that one layer is missed on the inside lol)!!!!

He Loved it and it kept him nice and snuggly warm lol!! 🙂

Still have to sew the hood on Isabelle’s, I will finish it before this winter! But first I am doing some other smaller projects to redevelop my basic sewing skills so hopefully I won’t meltdown again if my machine and I are very tired lol 😛

Fun things you see at Walmart & on the way

I’m sure everyone has heard or seen the stereotypes that have to do with Walmart. If you haven’t, just google The People of Walmart and you should find plenty of funny things. Well, this post is a little late but with Christmas and everything, I figured it would be understandable.

During one day of Christmas shopping, hubby and I were on our way to Walmart. We were stopped at a red light when we looked over at the Burger King on the right side of the street. What we saw made me laugh out loud!!!

You can’t really tell because we were a little far away but….do you see the lump on the top of this car that is in the drive threw???

How about now?? That, my friends, is a deer! This person went hunting, bagged a deer, and then thought to themselves “Hey, let’s celebrate with some Burger King!!” Lol, I feel bad for the drive threw workers, can you imagine opening that window to the blast of dead deer carcass?? Blah!!!

Then we were driving around in the Walmart parking lot, looking for a parking spot. Drove past this car and had to put us in reverse so I could check to make sure I saw what I thought I saw lol.

I did blur the license plate to protect identities and all that stuff. But look!! A purple mustache on a car!!!

This was so funny, I couldn’t believe it. I’ve seen reindeer noses but never mustaches lol. I normally don’t follow the stereotypes of Walmart but these are definitely giving me pause lol.

Does anyone else see funny things on cars? Going down the road? In parking lots? Are you weird like me and take pictures or just laugh in the moment and let it go lol?

First Workout

My mom and I had both been wanting to sign up at a gym for awhile now. Well for Cyber Monday we took the plunge because they were having a sale: 30 Day Trial for only $5, how could you pass that up? So we signed up with Snap Fitness.

We finally got our access cards so today we went for our first workout!!! So exciting!

We got there and one of the personal trainers walked us through the machines and our first workout. It was fun, we both kept laughing at each other. It is always more fun when you workout with someone lol.

We did the treadmill, squats, plank, mountain climbers, leg presses, then did some of the machines to work the upper body. I must say…..I feel like a noodle!!! Lol, I feel good but I definitely feel like a noodle.

We are going back Friday for our next workout and I can’t wait! So excited to start getting my pregnancy weight off and getting back to a weight I feel more comfortable with. 🙂

William’s latest discovery

Today we are spending time at my mom’s. She has these two pink plastic cups that Isabelle and William have a ball playing with but normally it involves throwing them around or banging them on things. Tonight, William decided to try something new…..

He decided that he wanted to try to suction the cup to his face lol!!

I’m sure that anyone that has kids, has been around kids, or has been a kid themselves knows what happened when he did it…….

It made a farting sound!!!

Something so simple and so silly but it caught him so off guard that it sent everyone into laughter!!

Now for a few things about myself…..

I absolutely LOVE to read but obviously, with 3 kids it doesn’t happen as much as I would like lol…

I make Nursing Necklaces, I call them Nursing Baby Neck Toys and I am selling them in a Consignment Shop for the first time in January 2014!!

My mom and grandma are my two Best Friends, aside from my husband, and we spend A LOT of time together!!

I grew up having dance parties in our living room with my mom and some friends atleast once a week, and I hope my kids enjoy the same thing and have the same memory!

I hope to one day start my own business, I just have to sort through my many ideas and pick one….

My First Reveal

I got my Rep Kit in the mail for Jewelry In Candles, it had my scent samples and candle in it. I was so excited and anxious to burn my candle and find my jewelry!! I got the Black Cherry Candle and it smells delicious!

I burned it for a couple hours before bed the day I got it but didn’t get it down far enough to get to the hidden surprise. Next morning I lit it again and it was ready by the time the kids went down for their naps!

Trying to get it out of the foil and out of the bag was a little difficult, it was extremely slippery. But it was covered in wax so what did I expect? 🙂 Right as hubby offered to try, I got it open!

This is my very first reveal with Jewelry In Candles. The first, I hope, of many.

Now, gold has never really been my thing but I actually really like this ring. I have been wearing it almost everyday! I love the edge of my seat, waiting to see what was hidden inside the foil. I can’t wait to do it again!!

Felt Creative this Weekend

I have been meaning to get started on a lot of projects. This weekend, aside from the usually weekend deep clean of the house, I got motivated!

On Saturday, I made two insta-dresses for Isabelle (& William) that I had found in the scrap bins at Walmart months ago. Then I made my first attempt at a toddler strap.

I loop it on my belt and it is better height for my toddler to reach to hold on to, in case my hands are full.

Then on Sunday, I got really busy. I went to work converting some of my tank tops to nursing tank tops.

My first attempt, I ruined it. It was the wrong type of strap.

My second attempt was my first success.

Then I tried two more times. Success both times!!!

So I successfully made 3 nursing tank tops. Next, I moved onto the fabric I had gotten awhile ago to make pillowcases for everyone. Decided I would try to make one of William’s. It came out really good.

Aside from a little imperfection at the opening….

But it proves I’m human and you can tell I made it with Love ❤
